In what could be described as an anti-Grand Theft Auto game of hot pursuit, Davilex's Knight Rider
puts players in the driving seat of KITT the talking car, in a goodwill mission to stop the many evils bent on your
destruction.
It was one of the most recognizable cars of the eighties, along with Bo and Luke Duke's red Dodge and John's
DeLorean, and the Knight Industry Two Thousand is now yours to drive. The legend that is KITT comes with all his
gadgets and defence mechanisms including bulletproof glass, turbo boost, Super Pursuit mode, Ski mode, micro
jammers and Scan mode, which allows you to search nearby buildings for villains.
Knight Rider's fifteen 3D courses are large and there are ten extensive missions to complete, in which you'll meet
with old friends Devon and Bonnie, and familiar enemies Garth and evil motor-twin KARR. In some missions you'll
find yourself pursuing those on the wrong side of law, whilst in others you'll find yourself the target of a deadly
criminal in an escape mission.
Keyboard controls are adequate, but they often make it difficult for the player to control KITT with any skill,
which consequently makes missions difficult. Steering wheels and analogue controllers are strongly recommended.
Davilex's Knight Rider is the first official game to be released based on the 1980's TV classic, and for avid
Knight Rider fans, this game offers a good dose of nostalgic pleasure. But it's a good game too, and that's what's
important.
